02/19/2018: Assailants in Colombia equipped with mortars and firearms attacked a military patrol in El Pan, Esmeraldas, Ecuador. At least two soldiers were injured in the assault. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) dissidents.
