02/10/2018: An explosive device detonated at the office of the GMR Group, an Indian construction company, in Birendranagar, Karnali, Nepal. There were no reported casualties, though the office was damaged in the blast. This was one of three coordinated bombings targeting hydropower projects on this date. The Communist Party of Nepal - Maoist (CPN-Maoist-Chand) claimed responsibility for the incidents and demanded that the government pursue hydropower projects using Nepali companies and labor.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
