Incident Summary:

02/04/2018: Assailants opened fire on Datu Banadjao Mampaundag at his residence in Igang, Palma Gil, Davao del Norte, Philippines. Mampaundag, an indigenous tribal leader, and his son, Jhonard Mampaundag, were killed were killed in the attack. This was one of two related attacks that took place in the area on this date. The New People's Army (NPA) claimed responsibility for the incident and accused the victims of recruiting people to join militias.
