01/23/2018: Assailants opened fire on a military patrol base in Casala, San Mariano, Isabela, Philippines. There were no reported casualties as security forces repelled the assault. This was one of two related attacks targeting bases in San Mariano on this date. No group claimed responsibility for the incidents; however, sources attributed the attacks to the New People's Army (NPA).
