Incident Summary:
01/02/2018: Three assailants, including a suicide bomber, opened fire on a Frontier Corps (FC) checkpost in Baleli neighborhood, Quetta, Balochistan, Pakistan. During the assault, one of the assailants detonated an explosives-laden jacket. At least two assailants were killed and five people, including soldiers and civilians, were injured in the blast and ensuing clash. The Taliban Special Group (TSG) faction of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
