Incident Summary:

12/20/2017: An explosives-laden vehicle detonated near a Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) checkpoint outside Shahil, Deir ez-Zor, Syria. At least nine people were killed and several other people were injured in the blast. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
