Incident Summary:

08/26/2017: Assailants attacked security forces in Kaya, Yei River, South Sudan. At least 15 assailants and three soldiers were killed and six soldiers were injured in the attack. In addition, a US journalist, identified as Christopher Allen, was embedded with the assailants and was killed in the ensuing clash. The Sudan People's Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) claimed responsibility for the incident.
