08/13/2017: Assailants equipped with mortars and machine guns attacked military bases in Zuwiyah, Saladin, Iraq. At least 15 people, including 12 assailants and three soldiers, were killed and eight soldiers were injured in the ensuing clash. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
