08/11/2017: Assailants opened fire on the vehicle of Muhammad Hanif Khan near Liaquat Ali Khan Chowk in Azizabad neighborhood, Karachi, Pakistan. At least two people, including Khan, a Pakistan Traffic Police deputy superintendent, and his driver, were killed in the assault. Ansar al-Sharia (Pakistan) claimed responsibility for the attack.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
