Incident Summary:

07/21/2017: Assailants abducted approximately 70 civilians in Shah Wali Kot, Kandahar, Afghanistan. Seven hostages were killed the following day and 30 were released on an unknown date. The fate of the remaining 33 hostages is unknown. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Taliban, which denied involvement.
