Incident Summary:

06/00/2017: Sometime between June 1, 2017 and June 30, 2017, assailants abducted a Yemini journalist, Anwar al Rakan, from Al-Hoban, Taizz, Yemen. Rakan was released on May 31st, 2018, and died due to injuries sustained during his abduction on June 2nd, 2018. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Houthi extremists (Ansar Allah).
