Incident Summary:

06/08/2017: Assailants opened fire on a civilian convoy being escorted by Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) soldiers along Juba-Nimule Road in Moli, Imatong, South Sudan. At least 14 people, including two soldiers, were killed and 10 other people were injured in the assault. The Sudan People's Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) claimed responsibility and stated that the attack was carried out in retaliation for military operations against the group.
