Incident Summary:

04/18/2017: Assailants held hostage 16 United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) staff members at a refugee camp near Goma, North Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The hostages were released unharmed after a few hours. South Sudanese extremists claimed responsibility for the incident and demanded that they be transported to another country and given asylum.
