Incident Summary:

04/03/2017: A suicide bomber detonated on a subway train traveling between Sennaya Square and the Technology Institute in Saint Petersburg, Russia. In addition to the assailant, at least 15 people were killed and 63 other people were injured in the blast. This was one of two coordinated attacks at subway stations in Saint Petersburg on the same day. The Imam Shamil Battalion claimed responsibility and stated that the incidents were carried out in retaliation for Russia's violent actions in Muslim countries. In addition, sources attributed the attack to Katibat al Tawhid wal Jihad (KTJ).
