Incident Summary:

02/21/2017: Assailants opened fire on Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam's motorcade in Thingkhongjang, Manipur, India. There were no reported casualties in the assault. This was one of four related attacks targeting Gaikhangam's motorcade on this date. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the incidents to the Zeliangrong United Front. Additionally, sources suspected that the National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM) may have carried out the attacks.
