11/19/2016: Assailants abducted two Indonesian fishermen off the coast of Kunak, Sabah, Malaysia. Both hostages were rescued on September 7, 2017. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG).
