Incident Summary:
08/05/2016: Assailants threw grenades and opened fire at a market in Kokrajhar, Assam, India. At least 15 people, including an assailant and 14 civilians, were killed and 25 others were injured in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), which the group denied. In addition, sources suspected the involvement of Muslim extremists.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
