07/07/2016: Assailants fired mortar at a security checkpoint in Rafah, North Sinai, Egypt. The mortar shell missed the checkpoint and struck a civilian residence. Two civilians were killed and another was injured in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Sinai Province of the Islamic State.
