Incident Summary:

06/22/2016: Assailants abducted three people, including a forest ranger, in Kukicherra, Hailakandi district, Assam, India. All three hostage were released on July 5, 2016. The Bru National Liberation Front (BNLF) claimed responsibility and stated that the hostages were released because the government agreed to pay for the education of 100 girls from the Reang tribe. Sources also attributed the incident to the United Democratic Liberation Army (UDLA).
