05/23/2016: Assailants opened fire on Mohammad Sadiq Sheikh, a police officer and guard for a government official, in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. Sheikh was killed in the attack. This was one of two related attacks targeting police officers in Srinagar on this date. Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) claimed responsibility for the incidents. Sources also suspected the involvement of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
