04/23/2016: Two assailants armed with machetes attacked Rezaul Karim Siddiquee in Rajshahi, Bangladesh. Siddiquee, a university professor, was killed in the assault. The Islamic State in Bangladesh claimed responsibility for the incident, stating that the victim was targeted for supporting atheism. However, authorities questioned the veracity of the claim and attributed the attack to Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).
