Incident Summary:

04/03/2016: Assailants abducted Edwin Panis Castor and Orlando Maglipac, two police officers, from Wao town, Lanao del Sur province, Philippines. Maglipac was released shortly after the kidnapping, while Castor was released on May 3, 2016. The New People's Army (NPA) claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that the attack was intended to ensure the application of NPA policies during the upcoming elections.
