Incident Summary:
12/16/2015: Assailants attacked Albu Daeej, Amiriyat al-Fallujah, Al Anbar, Iraq. This was one of two coordinated attacks in the area on the same day. At least three security force members and seven assailants were killed across both raids. No group claimed responsibility for the incidents; however, sources attributed the attacks to Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

Criteria 1

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack. For example, in a typical successful bombing, the bomb detonates and destroys property and/or kills individuals, whereas an unsuccessful bombing is one in which the bomb is discovered and defused or detonates early and kills the perpetrators.
