12/12/2015: Assailants attacked military chief Lieutenant Colonel Tukur Buratai in Zaria city, Kaduna state, Nigeria. Soldiers repelled the assault, killing seven assailants. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Islamic Movement (Nigeria). Representatives from the Islamic Movement (Nigeria), however, claimed that military opened fire on Movement members without provocation.
