Incident Summary:

07/29/2015: Assailants abducted four Indian nationals working for Sirte University at a checkpoint in Sirte district, Libya. Two hostages, identified as Lakshmikant and Vijay Kumar, were released on July 31, 2015. The last two hostages were released in September 14, 2016. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Tripoli Province of the Islamic State.
