07/27/2015: Assailants opened fire on a police position in Ercis district, Van province, Turkey. Two police officers were injured in the attack. The Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that the attack was carried out in response to recent airstrikes by the Turkish military on the PKK in northern Iraq.
