Incident Summary:
12/30/2014: A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden vehicle at the Dar Al-Salam Hotel in Tubruq city, Butnan district, Libya. The hotel was hosting the Libyan parliament at the time of the attack. At least 11 people, including hotel staff and lawmakers, were injured in the blast. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, a member of parliament attributed the attack to the Barqa Province of the Islamic State.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
