Incident Summary:

12/19/2014: Assailants opened fire and launched grenades on a National Army of Colombia patrol in Vilachi village, Santander de Quilichao district, Cauca department, Colombia. At least five soldiers were killed and five others were injured in the assault. Additionally, one soldier was kidnapped and later released on December 26, 2014. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).
