Incident Summary:

12/18/2014: A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden vehicle at a police checkpoint in Samarra city, Saladin governorate, Iraq. The blast was followed by an assailant attack. In addition to the bomber, two police officers were killed and five officers were injured in the assault. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
