11/09/2014: Assailants kidnapped a police officer from his home in Qayyarah area, Nineveh governorate, Iraq. This was one of 15 similar abductions targeting members of the police force in the area on the same day. The outcomes of the kidnappings are unknown. No group claimed responsibility for the incidents; however, sources attributed the attacks to Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
