11/08/2014: Assailants kidnapped 13 journalists in Mosul city, Nineveh governorate, Iraq. Eight of the journalists were released on November 22, 2014, while the whereabouts of the others remain unknown. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the abduction to Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
