10/24/2014: Assailants abducted Walid Akidi in Mosul, Nineveh, Iraq. Akidi was released unharmed on November 20, 2014. This was one of three related attacks targeting journalists in Mosul on this day. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attacks to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
