09/16/2014: Assailants attacked a military checkpoint in Afgoye town, Lower Shebelle region, Somalia. Six soldiers were killed, three of whom were briefly held hostage, in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Al-Shabaab.
