Incident Summary:
09/13/2014: Assailants opened fire on a number of Afghan National Security Force (ANSF) checkposts in Chapa Dara district, Kunar province, Afghanistan. This was one of two coordinated attacks on security checkposts in two districts of Kunar on the same day. At least 18 people, including three soldiers and 15 assailants, were killed and 21 others, including four soldiers and 17 assailants, were wounded in the assault. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the incidents.

Criteria

The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
