Incident Summary:

09/11/2014: Assailants kidnapped 20 former Sahwa Council members in near Rashad town, Kirkuk, Iraq. Three of the victims were executed the next day while another victim was released on September 15, 2014. The whereabouts of the remaining hostages are unknown. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the incident to Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), who committed the attack because there was a newly formed Sahwa Council group in the village.
