09/09/2014: Assailants attacked National Directorate of Security (NDS) officers on the Badghis-Herat Highway in Karukh district, Herat province, Afghanistan. One officer and one assailant were killed, while five officers and two assailants were wounded in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Taliban.
