Incident Summary:
08/12/2014: Assailants posted at a checkpoint ambushed a bus carrying soldiers from the Right Sector political party in Mandrykyne town, Donetsk oblast, Ukraine. Twelve soldiers and one attacker were killed and 13 total people were injured in the attack. Additionally, an unknown number of soldiers were kidnapped from the scene; their whereabouts were unknown. The Donetsk People's Republic claimed responsibility, stating that the soldiers actually attacked them first.
