06/23/2014: Assailants abducted Volodymyr Semystiaha in Luhansk city, Luhansk oblast, Ukraine. Semystiaha, a historian, died in captivity as a result of torture on June 27, 2014. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the abduction to the Luhansk People's Republic.
