Incident Summary:

06/14/2014: Assailants opened fire on Sheikh Sami al-Massudi's convoy near Ishaqi town, Saladin governorate, Iraq. Massudi, the deputy head of the Shia religious endowment, was not harmed; however, eight guards were killed and 10 guards were injured in the ensuing clash. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
