06/02/2014: Assailants publicly cut the hand off of a civilian in Barawe, Lower Shebelle, Somalia. The victim was injured in the attack. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the incident, stating that the victim had been found guilty of theft in an Islamic court and that anyone violating Sharia law would be punished.
