04/18/2014: An explosive device was discovered on Bolpur Suri Road in Birbhum district, West Bengal state, India. The device, which intended to target Mamata Banerjee, the All India Trinamool Congress (AITMC) chief, was safely defused by authorities. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources suspected that the Communist Party of India - Maoist (CPI-Maoist) was involved in the attack.
