Incident Summary:

04/17/2014: A suicide bomber, targeting an army recruiting center, detonated an explosives-laden belt prematurely when a police officer attempted to intervene in Balad Ruz district, Diyala governorate, Iraq. In addition to the suicide bomber, the police officer and an army recruit were killed and ten others were wounded in the blast. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the incident.
