03/21/2014: An explosive device detonated near the convoy of Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Saleh in Baiji district, Saladin governorate, Iraq. Three people, including Saleh and two soldiers, were killed in the blast. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources suspected that the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) was involved in the attack.
