Incident Summary:

03/04/2014: Gunmen attacked the home of a retired Rwandan military General in Johannesburg city, Gauteng province, South Africa. The General, Faustin Kayumba Nyamwasa, was not home at the time and there were no reports of casualties or damages. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, Nyamwasa stated that the attack was retribution for his claim that President Paul Kagame had ordered the attack on former president Juvenal Habyarimana's plane in 1994. The incident marked the beginning of the 1994 Rwandan genocide.
