Incident Summary:

01/22/2014: Assailants attacked the Shindand governor's convoy in Shindand district, Herat province, Afghanistan. The governor was not injured, but Mohammad Naser, the director of the Shindand Anti Terrorism Department, was killed and two police officers were injured. Additionally, four assailants were killed and four others were wounded in the fighting. Qari Mohammad Yusof Ahmadi, a Taliban spokesperson, claimed responsibility for the attack.
