Incident Summary:

01/09/2014: Assailants opened fire on Army troops returning to base after attempting to arrest a murder suspect in Balit village, San Luis municipality, Agusan del Sur province, Philippines. In the ensuing gunfire, seven soldiers, one militia fighter, and one police officer were injured. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, an army source attributed the attack to the New People's Army (NPA).
