Incident Summary:

12/07/2013: Approximately 30 assailants armed with sharp weapons entered Kumbhariput village, Koraput district, Odisha state, India. The assailants dragged Bandhu Saraka and Das Huika out of their homes and killed them by slitting their throats. The two had been accused of being police informants. This was one of three attacks committed in Kumbhariput on this day. Maoists claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that they carried out the attack because they believed the victims were police informants.
