Incident Summary:
11/30/2013: Assailants attacked the Sahebganj-Danapur Intercity Express train bound for Patna near Jamalpur city, Bihar state, India. At least three police officers were killed and a police officer and a civilian were injured in the attack. The assailants also abducted one police officer and stole weapons; the outcome of the abduction is unknown. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Maoists.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
