Incident Summary:

10/18/2013: Assailants attacked a Yemen Army base in Ahwar district, Abyan governorate, Yemen. A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden vehicle, and then other assailants proceeded to attack the based with rocket-propelled grenades and small arms. In addition to one assailant, eight soldiers were killed and seven soldiers were wounded. No group claimed responsibility for this attack; however, sources attributed it to Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).
