09/01/2013: Assailants opened fire on a Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) and Philippine Army detachment in Palumugin village, Midsayap municipality, North Cotabato province, Philippines. At least two assailants were killed in the return fire. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Movement (BIFM).
